Hair style "cameleon"

"Queen of pop" Madonna (born:1958) is not only a trendsetter and fashion icon, but also an award winning musician and actress. She changes her hairstyle and hair colour like no other.

For the cover of her new CD she had to colour her hair red.

In the eighties Madonna became a Superstar and sex symbol with hits like "Like a virgin", "Holiday" and "Material Girl." In the nineties "Like a Prayer" and "American Life" also became big hits. Recently her song "American life" also hit the charts.

Her recent song is called "Hung Up" - a remake of Abba's chart breaker ("Gimme, Gimme, Gimme (a man after midnight") of the seventies. Together with the "Fugees" Madonna is the second worldwide artist who is allowed to cover songs of the Swedish band.

Recently she acted in her new movie "I'm Going to Tell You a Secret." The documentation shows Madonna on her World Tour 2004.

Madonna just set up a new Limited company in England called, of all things"Semtex-Girls." Nobody really yet knows what kind of business it is? The semtex girl is a girl who is dynamic, who explodes, who does not know the meaning of nine to five , a girl who is unstoppable and who does not take no for an answer.She also should have excelent taste. Even men can be "Semtex Girls."

Semtex is named after the preferred explosion device of the infamous IRA. The CZech company Explosia who owns the rights to the trademark Semtex had launched legal action to prevent Madonna misusing its name.


Horse-riding accident

In August, 2005 Madonna broke several bones in a horse-riding accident. The sporty Material Girl fell off a horse and suffered three cracked ribs, a broken collarbone and a broken hand. Right know everything healed and she is riding her horse againg. In fact for the promotion of her new CD she has been spotted again riding in New York City.

Recently Apple-Chef Steve Jobs introduced the new, small iPod Nano. During the press conference Jobs had a life internet chat with Madonna who loved the super small Mp3 player.

She should know: Madonna possesses all Mp3 models. The Nano can be bought in black and white and weights .78 ounce.

The pop star also promotes the brand new Mp3 Handy "Motorola Rokr" which features Apple iTunes software.



Donatella Versace (photo left) chose Madonna as the new face of Versace.

In January 2005 the Spring/ Summer Versace campaign was shot by celebrity photographer Marino Testino. He also shot pictures when the Material Girl starred in ads for Versace in 1995.

Madonna's publicist and spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg confirmed that Madonna earns a £ 5.9 million wage and besides that free Versace clothes for the next two years and use of Donatella Versace's luxury mansion in Milan (Italy).

One of Madonna's predecessors is Nicole Kidman, who has already collected USD 7 million for a three-minute Chanel commercial. Also Charlize Theron, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Uma Thurman were once faces of Versace.

Donatella Versace has confirmed that actress Demi Moore is set to replace Madonna as the advertising face of Versace this Summer.



In the nineties Madonna was not only a trendsetter of hair styles - also her extravagant styling with Mehndi designs all over her body.

The temporar tattoos are made from the ground leaves of the henna plant, which is also used for colouring hair.


Tattoo specialists like Loretta Roome and Sumita Batra are not only responsible for Madonna's henna designs. Stars like Sting, Naomi Campbell, Demi Moore, Liv Tyler also are keen on those kind of tattoos.

Children's books of Madonna

Madonna (photo left) just published her fourth children's book. "The English Roses" is her first book and in England she sold more than 160.000 copies. "Mr Peabody's Apples" is Madonna's second children's book in a series of five and six months after publishing it was sold more than 70.000 times. Madonna launched a perfume, originally titled, "Madonna." The Material Girl is following in the footsteps of fellow divas - JLo, Britney Spears and Paris Hilton - in having a scent named after her.


Madonna helps Africa

Bob Geldof (initiator "Live aid") konnte auch Madonna für seine Charity-Events "Live 8" gewinnen.

She performed for free during the Live 8 concert in Hyde Park together with U2, Robbie Williams, Elton John, Paul McCartney and Pink Floyd. The goal of the event was to raise awareness for and pressure the G8 to make a positive decision in regards working with Africa.

After a three-year concert break Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone started her European "Re-Invention" world tour (London, Ireland, Holland and Portugal).

Madonna, formerly a Catholic, is now a devoted follower of the Kabbalah. That implies that she won't be performing on holidays.

Since 2000 she has been married to the English movie director Guy Ritchie ("Snatch") and they have two children: Rocco Ritchie and Lourdes. Her husband recently produced the film "Swept Away" and casted his wife to play the leading part. The diva's husband normally stands in the shadow of his wife.
